Hello all! As the Christmas season draws near, Christmas decorations begin to appear in abundance. And although they may contribute to the commercialism of the season, I must say I do appreciate the way they bring that festive feeling, and hopefully as Christians, draw our minds towards the real reason for the season. So here comes my pitch. Although I personally have never bought a poinsettia before (and you might fall into that category), I would encourage you to consider doing it this year. I am selling poinsettia's as a fundraiser for an organization I am involved in and believe very strongly in. The Lingana Foundation is involved in peace-building and reconciliation with the youth affected by the Darfur conflict in eastern Sudan, Chad and the Central African Republic. The goal is to break the cycles of systemic violence and oppression that plague these areas. By buying a poinsettia you will be supporting this work and helping these youth. As the organization is trying to get off the ground, we are desperately in need of funds. You can check out the website at www.lingana.org. It is still under construction but you can get a general idea about what's going on and I would be happy to discuss it with anyone interested. The poinsettia's are $12 for 1, $20 for 2, or $60 for 6 and they come in red, pink and white. So if you or anyone you know is interested, please let me know. My e-mail address is amy_fehr@hotmail.com. We are supposed to have payment up front but I'll trust that if you order some, you're good for them. I see that there is a Deeper Life Conference in early Dec and a City Wide mid December where I could distribute the plants, but we can organize that later. The only real catch is I need to know soon - by the end of this week preferably, but early next week would be OK too. OK thanks guys for considering this. And please feel free to pass the word around to your sphere of influence (family, friends, workplaces) - that would be much appreciated! It's Kingdom work and together we can make a difference! Blessings, |
