Now What? | November '09 Thoughts

This past month, our churches have been working through a proposal that I and our council prepared at the end of the summer. For the benefit of those who receive these newsletters, but are not a part of our churches, “The Proposal” was a call to our churches to recommit again to the work God has called us to. At its core, it was a call (we believe from the Spirit) for us to give ourselves again to the work of prayer and the spiritual disciplines and to give ourselves again to creative kingdom initiatives in our city.

Last week I sent “The Proposal” on to my good friend Darcy Reimer in Squamish. I wanted him to have a read through what we were up to so that he could pray for us during this season. A day or two later he wrote back with the following short reply,

"Exceptional.
What comes to mind is something I heard in 'The Vision'.
'Pray as if it all depends on God; and live as if it all depends on us.'"

For the past hour I’ve tried to write more, but all along I’ve had the sneaking suspicion that this is all I’m to say this month. Now what? “Pray as if it all depends on God; and live as if it all depends on us.”

Happy praying. Happy seeking. Happy living.

God be with you.

'Pray as if it all depends

'Pray as if it all depends on God; and live as if it all depends on us.'"

I stand in agreement with this statement. Let's continue to do this.
