As I entered my time this morning, I opened my bible... not sure of where I was headed. I felt I wanted to hear from Jesus' words, so I turned to the gospels... This brought me to Luke 12. In light of the dream I had last night, I was pretty amazed at how I came to this passage. I felt it had something for me and possibly something for us as a church. These few passages stood out to me: For me (maybe it speaks to you too): "I tell you the truth, my friends, DO NOT BE AFRAID of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. DON'T BE AFRAID; you are worth more than many sparrows. I tell you, whoever acknowledges me before men, the Son of Man will also acknowledge him before the angels of God." Luke 12:4-9 For us: "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Luke 12: 32-34 What is your treasure? AND : "It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the second or third watch of the night" Luke 12:38 Let's keep watch church :) Rebecca. |

cool
that's really neat you mention to keep watch Rebecca...because i just recently read the verses in matthew describing just that. I keep thinking of the chapter that talks about the virgins called to be on guard for when their groom comes.
amazing...
