Dreams...

In "prayer room passing" with Kristen the other night we were talking about praying for the Lord to speak to us in our dreams. She thought about the midnight - 4 am slots as they are often available and suggested 'If I'm gonna sleep at home, why not just pray for an hour or so and then as the Lord to speak to me here in a dream?' Interesting thought...

Now, a few days later, I have just woken up from a VERY vivid dream... so I thought I'd blog about it before I forget.

I was at the house I grew up in, in my old bedroom and it was daytime... around 4:00 pm I'd say. It was cloudy outside, but all of a sudden it got very dark. I felt an eerieness come over me and I heard voices... sounded like from a TV saying "all of a sudden it just got dark, like it's the end of the world" I looked outside and it was as if a MAJOR storm was brewing. The clouds dark thick grey and then I saw these cyclone type holes coming down to earth, like the sky was going to suck us in. I remeber feeling afraid at this point. Then my dad came into my room and he said, I think it's coming soon. He came and sat beside me as I was then sitting on the floor by my bed, just saying Jesus' name over and still in awe. I yelled for my mom and sister to come into the room. We huddled with our arms around each other as the cyclones kept coming outside. I could still hear the TV voices and the news casts reporting storm clouds everywhere. All of a sudden at this point, I felt complete peace.

We pulled up the blinds and as I looked out the window I saw and image forming in the clouds and it looked like your typical image of "God in Heaven with big hair and a big white beard" He had firey eyes and all of a sudden a cloud in the form or a serpent came up to him and said... "look at them, these feeble people" he laughed and laughed and came at my window. The storm was going crazy at this point... But now I knew not to be afraid. I had a sense of peace that it was going to be okay, no matter what, that serpent couldn't touch me... I belong to Jesus.

As we looked up from the floor of my bedroom a cyclone came right over us and we felt as though it started to suck us up. It was amazing to look at! I have NEVER had such a vivid dream!

It turned out that this wasn't quite the end. The storm passed. It seems the night came and we fell asleep. In the morning we woke up and looking out the window, there was sawdust EVERYwhere and trees were knocked down all over.

That was it... I woke up. NO IDEA what that was all about, but I contemplated blogging it, almost didn't, but got a sense I should. It may not mean anything really, other than to be a really amazing visual experience for me! Maybe over the next few days it will speak more to me... or maybe not.

One thing I did see through that dream that I wouldn't trade for the world is the peace that Jesus brings.

... Crazy dreams :P

Hey Rebecca,

Gregg had a VERY SIMILAR dream last month. Storm, being in our house during it, fierce storm, ... no snake or visible God figure. A very still moment right in the middle of the storm. Visible destruction outside after the storm, the next day. I was convinced it was about battle that we are in the middle of...

This dream was also very vivid for Gregg when he woke up.

What are you saying Jesus?
We are listening...

Love Teresa

this is just so amazing!

this is just so amazing! What an exciting and awesome dream! wow wow wow! I love the mystery of it all! What's so great is that there is nothing to fear in the Lord. And to know that we are on his side and that nothing can touch us, that is absolutely wonderful! wouldn't it be amazing if we were here to see the day he comes! looove it!

God and Dreams....

It's hard to turn a page in scripture and not find God speaking through a dream. I think he still does.

Rebecca, I'm not sure what this dream means in full - other then the plain interpretation you gave at the end - but I think it is very special. Actually, incredible.

A storm is brewing? Huddle in with one another. Nothing to fear. Jesus is near.

Hmmm....
