speaking my voice through art

[ ]

My art recently got accepted to an artshow called "Standing: A Journey of Resilience". It is put on by MCC's (Mennonite Central Commitee's) Victim's Voice. The show runs from November 7 - December 10, 2008 in Winnipeg. My prayer is that the art will impact people in a meaningful way and give them hope in their own journey towards healing and growth.

intimacy, reflecting the Glory

[ ]

There are a few pictures or dreams that I've had in the past about the effect that our intimacy with God has. One of them I wrote about in an essay I wrote called Cultivating Spirituality and Mindfulness Through Dance.
"I felt that ... shame was hindering me from beholding the glory of God. While I danced, however, I felt that the shame or hindrances, like wrappings of cloth that veiled my eyes, were being removed until I was able to behold the glory of God and delight in his love. At this point, I was aware that as I dance and remove the hindrances that keep me from seeing God, I also begin to radiate the glory of God so that others can see it. I saw myself dancing in a field, shining the glory of God from my face. I saw brokenhearted people standing in a semi-circle around me. As the glory of God penetrated through to them, it touched them in the places that they needed to be healed from their hurts, and the healing tears were coming down from their faces."

Ideas for building unity

[ ]

Pray for there to be a unity in the spirit with those who were in the prayer room before you and that those after you will also have unity with the others.

Ask the person before you to share a general sense of what the Holy Spirit was showing them or what God was highlighting in their time in the prayer room. This will give you an idea of themes that are coming up and as you hear from others it builds a sense of connection. This is all helpful in building unity in the body.

Have an openess to learn from one another. We are members of one body and Christ is the head so it is encouraging to hear and connect with each other. Perhaps one person has learned some insight in their spiritual journey that the other person is exploring at the momment. While the Holy Spirit is doing something new all the time, hearing insight helps us to notice His character and to help us to get back to the essence of what matters instead of getting side-tracked.

exploring what's going on intercession-wise

[ ]

I'm trying to get a sense of the heart's cry in intercession during my time in the prayer room. It's hard to translate. It is like a calling out but it seems like a long way until breakthrough. It feels like one could call out for a long time and still not break through. I'm not sure on the translation for this but it could give some hints of what's going on and things to be curious about. Like for example, do people despair of calling out in the Spirit in this city? Is there a barrier that needs to be broken through? What is it... apathy, or isolation or something else? I don't have the answers but I'm curious and I'm seeking for insight.
