I just sent this out as an email to many friends and family, but realized I don't have updated emails for many of YOU, and I consider you part of my extended family....so read on...

I could not let this occasion go by without sending out a note to you all!

So again I say, Happy Freedom Day!

Some of you may have not of heard of this, but today, in many places around the world, people are celebrating the 200th Anniversary of the Abolition of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade (the story is documented in the current movie "Amazing Grace". It's in theaters down here, but not sure if it is back home).

It is also a day to focus attention on the modern-day abolitionist movement. I'm just learning about this movement, but as you know, the concept of Freedom has gripped me, and I can't think of anyone less free than those who are enslaved!

So on this day, I hope you are fully enjoying the Freedom we often take for granted, and that maybe you could pause for a moment to pray for those for whom Freedom seems like a distant dream.
