Paul comments on this in Hebrews 5: 7 JESUS, in the days of HIS FLESH, offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to HIM, who was able to save HIM from death, and was heard because of HIS GODLY FEAR! though HE was a SON, yet HE learned obedience by the things HE suffered, and having been perfected, JESUS, became the author of eternal salvation to "ALL" who obey HIM.

today's "American Theology - the health and wealth gospel - has no room for suffering. Nobody wants to drink the cup...we only want to party on the beach, and consequently we have become a generation who stay away from church, seeking selfish pleasures. Those who go to church, find lots of reason to complain, and be critical, rather than support others and sustain others, who in turn sustain them in their time of need.

Paul also writes in 2Tim 4: 16. at my first defense no one stood with me, but the LORD stood with me and strengthened me, and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion, and the LORD will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for HIS HEAVENLY KINGDOM...TO HIM BE GLORY FOREVER AND FOREVER AMEN.
