International China Concern's annual fundraiser, Walk the Wall, is coming up soon on Saturday, September 24th. So far there are only 5 of us signed up under the Simplechurches team. It would be great if a big group of us participated and raised lots of money for this important cause. More details can be found at:

Sponsors are an important of part of partnering with ICC in its mission to bring love, hope and opportunity to every disabled child in China because it provides an opportunity to show God's love through gifts and communication with the child, and it also provides a guaranteed income to help cover the cost of caring for these children.

Just a reminder that the August 16, 2010 deadline to meet our $7,500 sponsorship goal for International China Concern's fundraiser Walk on the Wall is rapidly approaching. If you are planning on participating but haven't signed up and asked your family/friends/co-workers/classmates, etc. to sponsor you yet it would be good for you to do so sometime soon. If you weren't already aware, International China Concern offers a child sponsorship program called Hand in Hand. This is a great way to partner with ICC in its mission to bring love, hope and opportunity to every disabled child in China. On February 5, 6, and 7 ICC Canada is going to have a booth set up at Oakridge Centre mall (on West 41st at Cambie Street in Vancouver) with information on the Hand in Hand program so if you are interested be sure to come and check it out. The booth is going to be located between the kids play area and the entrance to Safeway.

I just wanted to pass along a few details about participating in Operation Christmas Child this year. This is a really tangible way to share God’s love with children in need so it would be awesome if everyone participated.

I will be bringing brochures and shoeboxes to the Citywide Celebration on Sunday, October 18th. Feel free to take as many as you like or use shoeboxes that you have at home. If it turns out that you need more shoeboxes or brochures just let me know.

Hello from China!

As most of you know, I applied to volunteer with International China Concern (ICC) for 6 months back in November and now the time has nearly arrived for me to fly over to China to begin my adventure! I leave this Saturday and will be returning home in October.

I just wanted to thank all of you for your encouragement and support. It is so nice to know that I have an awesome God and family of believers behind me. Your prayers are a huge source of support so if you could continue to pray for me while I am away that would be really appreciated.
