We at the River Church have had a growing desire to "do" a 24-7 Prayer Event for 6-8 months now. In the beginning, as I regularily sat by the river here in Squamish to pray, God gave me a picture that one day we would see people from all ages and backgrounds lined up along the river bank united in prayer. I received the vision as from the Lord, but didn't know quite what that would look like. Only now we are beginning to realize that 24-7 refects that vision on many levels.

My wife Kenda came across Pete Greig's "Red Moon Rising" last January and new right from the outset that God was using Pete Greig's experience to affirm much of what we were envisioning for the river and the Olympic Corridor. As the Vision became clearer we began to dream about running a 24-7 40 Prayer Event. Sharing my heart with Andy Lambkin, we soon discovered a similar vision. It seemed right to us and the Holy Spirit that we coordinate our dates for the 24-7 40 Days of Prayer to happen in tandum. I see all this as further confirmation that we are moving in step with the flow of God's Spirit.

So, how is the prayer going? Any themes that God might be saying to your body? We sure are.

Two themes:

1) Amos 5:24 "Let Justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream." The call for us to be all about justice. We are praying for further direction what this exactly looks like - have a sense it is about speaking on behalf of children.
2) Also the issue about "Hidden Things" (Ezekiel 8:7ff). We have been doing a lot of confessing one to another (halthy disclosure) - but sense there are secrets/idols/sin that God is going after in our team (individuals and/or they broader community_that people have been harboring for a long time.

I can't tell you how many times the Lord has confirmed these words either through scripture, words, pictures and dreams. W are all standing in total awe!

We are also seeing one other church embrace the opportunity as well. Their whole church has signed up for Wednesday night! Pray things continue to gather momentum.
