This is an episode of the CBC radio program Tapestry from a few weeks back. I heard it when it aired, and it really stuck with me. Our church listened to some clips from it this week, and I thought I'd share it with you all.

The show is about common fears and how we deal with them. The guest on the show is Rabbi Harold Kushner. He seems to have a very honest and realistic perspective on life and faith, and it was encouraging to hear his thoughts.

I came across this quote this morning.

Christopher Hitchens, columnist for Vanity Fair, criticizes the New Testament:
"It tells us to forget thrift and saving, to take no thought for the morrow, and to throw away our hard-earned wealth on the shiftless and the losers."

It does indeed Chris. And it tells us that when we do this, we're actually doing it to Jesus.

checking the prayer signup sheet throughout the day to see who's currently praying. is anyone else doing this? it's cool to picture all these people taking turns getting on their knees before God.
