As many of you know, I (Andy) have been studying and podcasting about the Israelites and their journey out of Israel. One of the things that has stood out to me the most about this story has been the three times the Lord asked his people to remember and recount his deeds. Now, why was this so important? Opinion: Because there is something about recounting God’s deeds in the past that builds faith for the present.

Remembering the deeds of God in the past gives confidence and hope for the journey we walk in the present.

As I have prayed for this weekend, I’ve sensed the Spirit nudge me that it is time for us to recount. As a whole chruch we need to remember and recount how the Lord has faithfully led us. We need to remember the deeds of the Lord in our midst. And we need to remind ourselves again just who this is that we claim to follow - he is the LORD the maker of heaven and earth!

So this weekend we are going to recount together. We are going to remember again what he has done, how he has faithfully led us, and who he says he is. As we do this, watch and listen for the Spirit of hope, perseverance, courage, joy, and delight to rise up in you. Come. Its time. We need to recount again.
