2009-09-26 09:30 Click Here For the Latest Update on Our Progress.Another Fundraiser? That's right! We have three planned for the year. The first, our Yard Sale, was dedicated to our friends in the Ukraine. The second is for the disabled orphans of China. What is Walk the Wall?It is an initiative of International China Concern where people from around the globe agree to walk 10 kms on September 26th after having raised pledges for the walk. In Vancouver the walk takes place around the Stanley Park SeaWall. What is simplechurches goal?At this point we don't have an exact goal set up, our real hope is that as many people as possible, from all the churches, sign up to walk. Wouldn't it be a cool church project? Last year six walked, and between us we raised around $2000. That's right. What if this year, 50 of us walked? Booya. How do you raise the funds? It's really simple. ICC has set up a website, where you register yourself. After registering, you are then enabled to send out links to your friends and family where they can pledge you through credit card, online. All of their gifts are tax receipt-able. Does simplechurches have a team registered? You bet! Rebecca Brooke has already registered us as a "team". So, when you sign up as a participant you will be asked to sign up as a team. Follow the prompts and find our simplechruches team. Easy. How do I find out more? How do I register?Click the banner above and it will take you to the "Walk the Wall" site. Register yourself from there. ChallengeCould you agree now to set aside September 26 to walk? Could you agree to stir things up in your church? What if all of us did this together? |
