Happy Thanksgiving Weekend to All!

Psalm 100

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
2     Worship the Lord with gladness;
    come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the Lord is God.
    It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
    we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
    and his courts with praise;
    give thanks to him and praise his name.
5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
    his faithfulness continues through all generations.

2 Timothy 2:8-15 | Strength in Grace: Paul’s Final Words to Timothy

They Devoted Themselves - Wednesday, October 8, 2025

In 2 Timothy 2, Paul writes from prison with a sense of urgency and love for his protégé, Timothy. These are words of legacy and encouragement: be strong in the grace of Christ, endure like a soldier, athlete, and farmer, and never forget the gospel of Jesus.

This message reminds us that faith is not about comfort but about endurance, perseverance, and passing the truth on to others. Paul’s words challenge us to remain steadfast, to entrust the message to future generations, and to keep Jesus at the center.

In this teaching, we’ll explore:

+ What it means to be strong in grace

+ The soldier, athlete, and farmer analogies

+ How to endure and remain faithful

+ Why the gospel of Jesus is worth suffering for If you’ve ever wondered how to stay faithful in difficult times, this passage is for you.

Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:8-15

Our Annual Church Wide Retreat - Friday, November 14, 2025

Our Annual Church Retreat!

A highlight of our church family since 2006.  If you've never before come - plan on coming this year. Good friends, good food, Jesus. What else do you need?

And a huge, special welcome to those new to our church or those who have never attended before.  It is an instant way to dive into the deep end of our broader simplechurch family.

Special Guests: The Reimers!

This year, we have invited Darcy and Kenda Reimer to lead us in our main sessions.  The Reimers were pastors of the River Church in Squamish for many years and now live in Victoria, where Kenda serves as a Spiritual Director and Darcy works for Union Gospel Mission.  They have four adult children.

At the end of August, we invited Kenda and Darcy to lead the church leadership on a day retreat, and we had a wonderful time with them.  It was so wonderful that we felt their time with the church wasn't quite over, so we've invited them back to minister to us at the retreat.
