Luke 23:32-46 | What Kind of King is This?

On Christ the King Sunday, we turn to one of the most unexpected passages in the Gospels: the crucifixion of Jesus. Instead of displaying power through self-preservation, Jesus reveals a very different kind of kingship—one marked by forgiveness, intimacy, surrender, and trust in the Father. In this message from Luke 23:32-46, we explore why true greatness is not found in saving ourselves, but in entrusting our lives to God.

Jesus is King—but not the kind of king we expect.
He forgives his enemies.
He welcomes sinners.
He entrusts his spirit to the Father.

This is the King we worship.
